Print Stopped. The House Kept Going.

For decades, this hall in Munich-Moosach printed a daily newspaper. Presses ran through the night, paper moved by the tonne, and the building was designed around one thing: production, at scale, on time.

The presses have stopped. The hall has not.

PRINTHOUSE is a cultural centre for concerts and electronic music, jazz evenings, opera and theatre, exhibitions and everything in between — held together by a bar that stands on its own. Nine metres of ceiling, raw concrete, industrial light. We are not covering that up. It is the reason the room works.

The building is being developed step by step, with the first events already running while the permanent conversion takes shape. What we are building is not a venue for one scene, but a house that can hold several: an audience that comes for a string quartet on Sunday and for a late electronic programme on Saturday, in the same room.
